Chocolate Croissant Pudding

If you're a fan of croissants, then you're going to love this chocolate croissant pudding! It's the perfect dessert for a special occasion, and it's easy to make. Plus, it's sure to impress your guests. So give this simple recipe a try and see for yourself how delicious it is. You won't be disappointed.

I've made this recipe for my dad for Father's Day, he loves bread and butter pudding and I wanted to gift something home baked to him. So why not try something a little different? Croissant or brioche would work well a few days stale is fine.

Method

A croissant pudding is a delicious and easy-to-make dessert that's perfect for any special occasion. While it may look complicated, this dish is actually quite simple to prepare. All you need is a few basic ingredients and a little bit of time.

The first step is to make the custard filling. This can be done by mixing together milk, sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Once the mixture is smooth, set it aside. I use oat milk or almond milk instead of whole milk but that's up to you.

Next, you'll need to prepare the croissants. Cut them in half and smear inside your chocolate spread of choice and then cut into bite-sized pieces and place them in a baking dish.

Once the croissants are in the dish, pour the custard mixture over them. Be sure to evenly distribute the filling so that each piece of croissant is coated. I leave this for at least 15 minutes so it soaks everything up.

Finally, bake the pudding in a preheated oven until the custard is set and the croissants are golden brown. Serve warm and enjoy!

If you're looking for a different kind of filling, feel free to experiment with other flavors. Some great options include chocolate, caramel, dulce de leche, and fruit. No matter what you choose, this croissant pudding is sure to be a hit.

Can I make it ahead?

This pudding can be made ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. Simply reheat it before serving.

Can I freeze it?

Yes, this pudding can be frozen for up to 3 months. Thaw it overnight in the fridge before reheating.
