Need a quick protein snack?
I'm constantly rummaging through the cupboards looking for decent snacks that aren't too fatty or piled with sugar. It's normally shop bought bars that are so sweet and end up giving you a headache after!
Here comes my addictive nut and date protein balls. Keep these in the fridge in an airtight container and munch on the go... believe me they don't last long.
They are chocolatey, fudge like in texture and crunchy with almonds. A super satisfying snack.

Recipe:
Makes about 10 balls
3 pitted dates
150g almonds
1 tbsp cacao powder
a drop of vanilla
1 heaped tablespoon of oats
Optional:
3 tbsp desiccated coconut
1 tbsp chocolate chips
Place all in the ingredients into a food processor or blender. Pulse until well combined.
Take out onto a plate and using your hands roll into small walnut sized balls.
You can then roll some in desiccated coconut for a tropical hit or stud with some chocolate chips for a treat for the kids.
