Is being obsessed with food a thing?

Are you constantly thinking about food?

Do you make grocery lists in your head?

Are you so obsessed with food that it takes over your thoughts?

If this sounds like you, then you're not alone. Welcome to the club of food-obsessed individuals! I understand how difficult it can be to resist the temptation of delicious dishes, and I sympathize with those who are constantly dreaming of their favorite meals. From pasta to pastries and everything in between, our cravings know no bounds!

Now I know, other than writing I'm pretty much cooking food ALL the time, or thinking about it at least. It's fair to say it's my THING. It get's me out of bed in the morning, I get excited about what I'm going to cook or try something new that day.

I look forward to eat out as a treat. Get inspiration from other chefs and create new ideas and versions of dishes.

I've been doing it for at least 10 years now, blogging, cooking for others, serving my favourite dishes, writing a cookbook you name it!

I suppose it doesn't help that I'm nearly 8 months pregnant, but the food budget has got way out of hand. How much do you spend monthly?

How do I manage?

The key to managing your food obsession is moderation. While it's perfectly ok to indulge every now and then, try not to overindulge. Make sure to eat balanced meals with plenty of fruits and veggies, as well as lean proteins like fish and chicken. Exercise regularly, get enough sleep, and find healthy ways to manage stress.

Planning

Plan meals in advance can also help. Schedule out what you'll eat each day and try to stick with it. And don't forget to treat yourself occasionally - there's nothing wrong with having your favorite dessert once in a while!

Remember that food should be enjoyed, not dreaded. Avoid obsessing over calories or dieting trends and just enjoy the food for what it is - a delicious part of life.

Emotional Eating

If you find yourself frequently turning to food when feeling emotional, there are ways to address this. Try to identify the root cause of your emotions and focus on healthy alternatives such as meditation, exercise or journaling. Talking to a therapist can also be beneficial in learning how to cope with difficult feelings in healthier ways.

Blood Sugar

The last tip is to pay attention to your blood sugar levels. Eating too much sugar can lead to spikes and dips in energy, which can increase cravings for more sugary foods. Keeping an eye on your diet and avoiding processed food high in sugar is a great way to help keep your blood sugar balanced.

By following these tips, you can make sure your obsession with food doesn't get out of hand. Enjoy the tasty treats that come along with life, but also be mindful and practice moderation.

So with those thoughts on paper, I've spent the last 8 months missing carbs and sweet stuff due to my pregnancy and I look forward to a treat once this baby arrives! Well after growning a human being I'm sure I deserve it.
