Yup you read it right... this month I have totally failed on the food budget with one week left to go and less than £50 to feed our family for the next week. Things are looking bleak guys.
So what happened? Well I'm eating for two now right?! That is not the only excuse, we have upped our protein intake everyday due to training, exercises, needing more calories ( so i'm not contantly waking up during the night) and generally eating every two hours so that counts for snacks too!
So what can we do? Apart from find extra money in our shoe boxes or eat at our parents every week. I can't cut down on portion size or protein. For me food is life! I am an emotional eater and if there's nothing to eat all hell breaks loose.
Any tips or words of wisdom?
I've been thinking about batch cooking so we have food that last's for two days instead of one. BUT we always end up fininshing it all off in one go or needing to add more the next day to bulk it up. Hence buying more.
Looking forward...
Every month I start off really well but things ultimately crop up, I need to try to stick to my guns. Don't waiver.
Cut down on non essentials. Let's see how we do..
